Israelis and Palestinians have been at war since the early 20thcentury. Making the public aware of the catastrophes that happen in what is known as Israel may help put an end to the murders that have been happening to the Palestinians and Israelis for so many decades.
When Jews migrated back to the Jerusalem area after many fled Europe, the Zionists started to believe they were entitled to that land – despite it being an Arab majority territory.
Jews suffered from anti-Semitic persecution in Europe around the time of World War II, and felt they had the right to reclaim their ancestral land.
Throughout the disagreements on how to run the government, many Palestinians have been slaughtered at the hands of the Jews. Not only soldiers, but women, children, and elders as well. Since 1987, a total of 7,978 Palestinian casualties have been recorded, while 1,503 Israelis were killed. In 2009 alone, over 1,000 Palestinians died in a land they feel is their own.
Palestinians have been forced to seek refuge in European and other Arab countries, after many have watched their families and loved ones be killed in front of them.
The National Post reported that on Jan. 21, 2020 at 5:47 PM EST, Israeli troops shot and killed three Palestinians at the Gaza border.
There is no question whether or not Jews have endured their own suffering and trauma throughout history. They went through a deep history of anti-Semitism, including the Holocaust, hate from the Catholics, and many anti-Jewish propagandists. Most people are aware of the hardship that Jews have been through, mainly because of media coverage. Palestinians don’t have such a supporting platform like the American media, which could be a contributing reason why this conflict has been going on for so long.
Most Palestinians view Zionism as colonialism and racism with the goal to appropriate Palestinian land. Islamic Imam, Mohammed Amani referred to the Jews by saying, “They are blessed because of all the riches they have in this world, and cursed because despite their riches, many people of different nations and religions treat them with disgust. It is unfair, but it is true to an extent.”
Other nations have offered refuge to Palestinians, but other than that, not much has been done to stop the infighting. If people continue to turn a blind eye to the horrors that go on in the Israeli/ Palestine area, innocent people of both nationalities will continue to suffer for days to come.
